OUR NEXT EVENT (HOME PAGE)
CULINARY HERBS:
We are starting to grow various culinary herbs commercially near our Events location. If you would like to buy them from us either in a small way or in volume, please contact us at danamen@netzero.net. We are also looking for folks who would like to partner with us in production or in selling the herbs. Druggers need not apply.
DAY HUNTS:
For the first time, we are offering Day-Hunts during the regular hunting seasons in the Pawnee area. These will be conducted on rural property that is only a few miles from where we hold our regular Public Entertainment Events. But our Day-Hunts will be real hunting and will be unrelated to our Public Entertainment Events. You will need to bring your own gun or bow.
We will meet in Pawnee with those who want to hunt for that day, and then we will guide them out to the hunting sites which are not too far from Pawnee. Hunters can leave their vehicle in the City of Pawnee or follow us out and park on the edge of the hunting property which contains lots of deer. Most hunters will want us to have delivered them to their individual site on the hunting property before daybreak. Each hunter will be placed at some specific site that will have some cover from which to shoot, and they must stay right there as long as they are on the property.
Of course, you will need to be responsible for your own proper hunting licenses, and we will be conducting hunting only during the hunting seasons. You may hunt for anything that is in season, but you must stay within about 20 feet of the place we leave you for as long as you are on the property. Once in the vicinity of the spot, we will try to satisfy you on where exactly you want to sit. There will be other hunters within earshot, and we will be on the property until we pick you up and return you to your vehicle at whatever time you wish, so for the safety of you and others, we will want you to stay near your spot all day.
The charge for each hunter for each day (or part of a day) will be $125, and we can schedule hunts on most days including weekdays on a first-come basis. I think you will have a very good time because we have lots of deer. You will need to email us at danamen@netzero.net at first to ask questions or to schedule a day to hunt. In a reply-email, we will supply you with whatever current phone number to use to make final arrangements, and also just before the hunt, we will supply you with a phone number to use with us all during the day of the hunt to tell us when to pick you up and to come to you immediately if you shoot something and it leaves your vicinity as deer often do. In that case all you will need to do is phone us and we will help you safely find your deer among other hunters who may be out there. Are you ready for some hunting?
DIRECTIONS to PUBLIC ENTERTAINMENT EVENTS!!
(NOT Hunting or Culinary Herb directions!)
Directions: First, you have to stop in at Ranch Burger just before the railroad tracks below in Pawnee to fill up for the fun to come out at our place--great food for great prices. Unfortunately, our family does not get a penny of what you spend there, so this is an unpaid testimonial from us. Ha. Then go 3 miles north of Pawnee on Hwy 18. When you get to the road towards Skedee, turn right just before the cattle-sorting pens, and then right again after 1/8 mile into our open gate on the south side of that road to Skedee. Follow our lane in your car all the way through our meadow over to our parking area. Remember to keep your cardoors locked. You never know what might be hiding in that tall grass that burshes by your car. Then as you start walking away from our parking area down the rocky slope to our admission table, our 14-acre private lake will be gleaming in the gloomy moonlight in front of you. A good night for a murder. Come see if it will be yours or that of a total stranger who deserves it more.
Our next event
Haunted Halloween Trail is our next event.
Each 2008 Saturday night in October: 4, 11, 18, 25 (and probably as a private trail on any date in the year at night for you and your friends for no less than $100 if you are intersted)
(But back to the scheduled nights, come in our north gate at DARK or later until 10:30 p.m.)
Probably our best attended event of the year. This is no hayrack ride. It is open to the public and will be a walk down our spooky trail where was finished filming in September 2007 the new feature-length horror movie Howling Moon directed by talented Oklahoma filmmaker Damon Blalack. This public event will be in late evening after darkness has fully descended over our land. On our trail, you will be walking in pitch blackness except for the flashlight of our guide. The walk will play on many of your own personal fears and will scare you aplenty. Admission will be $7 per person. So for $7, each attendee can experience the horror of night travel, and walk the same path which was run so desperately and for so long a time one night by the star character, Sylvia, in Howling Moon with you actually seeing many of the actual props and backgrounds that were actually used in the actual filming of this actual thriller. In addition, you will be "treated" to many other scary features of our land like looking into the ancient cellar where the poor wretch was chained and drowned, down there in the dankness, from the rising seepage of the groundwater through the wide cracks in its cold concrete walls. There may be enough light for you to view his floating, rotting corpse as an unexpected added bonus at no extra charge. We are only trying to give you your money's worth after all. We aim to please.
There will also be many rustlings in the tall weeds along the mowed narrow country lane where you are walking. I wonder what is moving along in the brush past you completely out of sight. We will never know--unless it attacks us. I wonder if they are part of what we planned or not. I can tell you one thing. If you hear a coyote howl nearby, that will not be part of the act, but rather it will be Mother Nature slowly reclaiming her Indian land. I even wonder if we really are hearing a coyote, or is it something much bigger.
Well, if you are not scared by now, you may just qualify to be one of the few who will struggle through to survive our haunted trail staged for Saturdays in October 2008 only. (Come out if you dare.) I hope you are one of the few who does make it throughour trail, because we need your $7 next Halloween. Mercenary aren't we? But that is our curse. If you don't survive our trail, as a consolation prize, you can view a parcel of spooky feature films running (one at a time) on an outside television set in the gloom near the end of the trail for your viewing pleasure (and pain).
Ask us about leasing our private 10-acre plots for recreation, camping, and in-season hunting for deer, quail, and fishing for bass and channel cats, etc. near our Olden Times Theme Park. You can lease a wooded or open 10-acre tract for just yourself and your guests and family only for just $1,000 for the period from now until November 1, 2008. Talk to us.
Entrance is from our north--only a hop, skip and a jump 1/8 mile east on the Skedee exit from Oklahoma State Highway 18. We are thinking that if you may be planning a lakeside event at our Olden Times Theme Park later, it might help you to envision your activities and your facility placements if you would drop by—either as a group or individually. By next fall, we should have completed the great hall with its cooking, sleeping and bathroom facilities—maybe even a restaurant. Of course as always, any of your suggestions for facility and activity improvements or designs will be greatly appreciated now or later. We hope you will come and enjoy as October dies. $7/person http://rockhouserally.4t.com (405) 612-9740 |

In addition at other times, everyone is welcomed to go exploring around thru our picturesque park-like, 386-acre garden-spot of rolling woods and grassy prairies and all around our 14-acre lake in the middle of it all at their own pace and at their own leisure. All of you hikers and riders and fossil hunters will be able to explore our 386 acres by entering our NORTH gate after you drive NORTH on Hwy 18 to exactly 3.6 miles NORTH of Click's Restaurant of Pawnee, Oklahoma. (But, Eat at the Ranch Burger.) Then from that rural spot, drive east another 1/8 of a mile, and turn into our north gate there. To ride you will need to bring your own horse. Little fossils you find will be free. There will be primitive free camp sites on the premises, and some 110-volt electricity is available nearby.
THEN on dates to be determined next year, the public is also invited to our Native American Language Weekend, 101st Anniversary of Statehood, Slavic Folk Festival, Fairy Enchanted Woods, and another Haunted Halloween Trail all at the same place.
Does anyone want to come again this year to our American Indian Survival Crafts Day wherein we teach hands-on bits of the ancient survival crafts including tepee-pole crafting and erecting, canoe making, arrow construction with flint-arrow head chipping, upper-moccasin layout, rug weaving, etc.? If you might want to, then you need to email us, so that we can start working it up. It's a real good event if you are intersted in hunting or camping or survival skills. Let us know. If no one wants to come, we'll just not bother with it this year even though we enjoy it a lot. We're thinking about having it one Saturday in September. It will cost $7 per person.
(Would anyone want to sponser our Enchanted Fairy Woods Path--either volunteerily or advertisingly? We are developing a shorter one in downtown Stillwater too.)
Anyhow, the next thing we have scheduled for certain is our Haunted Halloween Trail--2008
CUSTOM-SIZED BOOKCASES
I will construct custom-sized bookcases for you in most any dimensions you like. I can make them for you from black walnut, oak or other fine-furniture woods. Within reason, the kind of wood probably is your choice also. What do you think of aromatic cedar wood like is used to line hope chests?
My bookcase design is unornamented and does not employ any flat, carcass-sides design. I have developed my own frame design that employs no separate fasteners of any kind. Everything is secured by joinery cut only into the ends of the frame’s posts and rails themselves. Elegant surface miters hide all internal joint details in the traditional smooth Chinese-furniture-joint method. That is despite the fact that I make all of my bookcases right here in the heart of our cowboy Oklahoma.
When you receive them, my bookcases will be completely assembled, and all surfaces will have fine finishes—front and back. Prices are $1,000 and on up. Email me. My typical client is a private individual who wants to deal directly with me without any middlemen involved. I will arrange for delivery or crating and shipping as a part of your purchase price.
